HellermannTyton is a world leader in the manufacture and supply of products for fastening, fixing, identifying and protecting cables. Our portfolio contains over 70,000 market-leading products, available through leading wholesalers.
Part of a global network operating in 32 countries, HellermannTyton’s UK business has two world-class manufacturing – in Manchester and Plymouth – and distribution centres across England, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
A Comprehensive Wholesale Range
Injection moulding products are manufactured at the Manchester site. This includes tried and tested standard cable ties as well as more complex cable management products for specific applications and bespoke solutions to overcome unique challenges presented to us by our customers.
The Plymouth factory produces heat shrinkable components, extruded cable management products, and a wide range of identification systems.
The highest standards of development and production are brought together under one roof in our custom-built distribution centre in Cannock. Our friendly and competent sales and logistics experts are on hand to advise and support, whatever your requirements and specifications.
New Product Development
We work closely with wholesalers and distributors to identify new opportunities to add value to their customers. With our in-house research and development department, we bring new products to market that help electrical contractors to improve performance, save time and reduce costs.
Alongside this work, our development team works with OEMs in industrial markets – including automotive, rail and telecoms – to develop bespoke solutions to meet unique challenges.
With a global presence and universal product numbering system, the majority of our parts are available throughout the world making HellermannTyton the ideal supplier for both domestic and international projects.
Customer Service and Training
With over 80 years’ experience supplying the electrical wholesale trade, HellermannTyton has built strong and longstanding relationships with the UK’s most well-renowned wholesale brands. Managing these relationships, we have 25 internal customer service assistants on hand to ensure problems are tackled quickly and effectively.
This includes 10 external sales staff servicing the electrical wholesale trade, and seven product managers calling on end users to pull/push sales through its electrical wholesale partners.
Our HELLERMANNTYTON ACADEMY, located in Cannock, West Midlands, gives wholesalers hands-on training for our vast range of products and applications. It’s a place where our customers can experience common electrical contractor applications, and access our products to cut, connect, and install cables in a real working environment.
In December, the HELLERMANNTYTON ACADEMY was fitted with a range of virtual reality experiences, enabling users to delve into five different virtual worlds and experience how cable management solutions are used in real-life scenarios. This includes automotive, wind power and rail applications.
The ACADEMY is also home to example point of sale to show wholesalers our thought process in packaging and marketing to drive the best sales on the stock they purchase. Everything we do in terms of developing new packaging and external marketing is to drive more sales for our wholesale customers.
Alongside the HELLERMANNTYTON ACADEMY, we’ve invested in extensive, state-of-the-art conferencing facilities. As well as being the perfect base for HellermannTyton’s internal meetings and training programmes, we’re happy to make these available to customers for awaydays, meetings, training and conferencing.
And for those who can’t make it to Cannock, our two InnoVans are well-stocked, portable demonstration vehicles, which have travelled all over Europe to visit customers at their own locations. They’re an ACADEMY on wheels.
Since July 2018, we are also increasingly offering advice to wholesalers about how their customers can comply with the newly introduced 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). Advice can range from best practice during the installation process to which of HellermannTyton’s products can help to ensure the regulations are not breached.
