In 2025, Rointe launched Inverter Smart Adaptive Technology — a breakthrough development in electric heating and a world-first application of inverter-based modulation technology within electric radiators.
Traditional electric heating systems typically operate using aggressive ON/OFF cycles or PID-based control logic. While effective at reaching target temperatures, these systems often generate unnecessary energy peaks, wider temperature fluctuations and less stable comfort levels. Rointe identified a clear opportunity to rethink this model entirely.
Our Inverter Smart Adaptive Technology continuously modulates power in real time, adapting dynamically to the thermal requirements of the room. Instead of operating at maximum output until reaching temperature and then shutting down abruptly, the system intelligently regulates power demand to maintain a stable and efficient comfort level with lower consumption peaks.
The result is a heating system that behaves more intelligently, consumes energy more efficiently and delivers a significantly more stable user experience.
Most importantly, this was not an off-the-shelf integration or third-party adaptation. It was a turnkey development fully engineered by Rointe specifically for electric heating applications. To our knowledge, Rointe remains the only company in the world currently offering true inverter technology within electric heating products.

The result was the launch of the ONYX High Heat Retention storage heater — one of the most technologically advanced electric storage heaters currently available on the market.
ONYX achieved independently verified heat retention levels of 55.3%, positioning it as a market leader in heat retention performance. However, performance alone was not enough. The product was developed as part of a wider smart energy ecosystem designed for modern living.
Unlike many conventional storage heaters, ONYX incorporates integrated WiFi connectivity without requiring external gateways or hubs. Through the Rointe Nexa platform, users can manage heating schedules, temperatures, consumption and operating modes directly from their smartphone.
In addition, ONYX integrates intelligent Smart Charging functionality that analyses user demand and adapts charging behaviour accordingly. Rather than charging unnecessarily during every off-peak cycle, the system calculates real thermal requirements and optimises energy use more efficiently.
