Increasing the test current helps overcome background noise on the supply, producing more stable and accurate Earth Loop Impedance results. This is particularly beneficial in commercial and industrial settings where multiple loads and electronic equipment can interfere with testing. It reduces the need for retests and gives electricians greater confidence in the results they are recording.
