The defining feature that sets SPEEDBEAM EXPRESS apart from competing linear battens is its True-Plug&Play emergency capability.
Unlike traditional battens, where emergency conversion requires additional wiring, internal modification, or specifying a separate emergency fitting, every SPEEDBEAM EXPRESS luminaire comes with an integrated emergency pack base already built into the product. Installers simply add the plug-in emergency pack accessory to complete the upgrade.
This eliminates unnecessary wiring and dramatically simplifies emergency installation. The modular system also allows wholesalers and contractors to stock a single standard luminaire and upgrade to emergency only when required. This reduces product complexity, speeds up installation and improves on-site efficiency.
The plug-in emergency pack incorporates dual test functionality and LiFePO₄ battery technology, delivering reliable emergency performance while maintaining the simplicity of the True-Plug&Play system.
Applications and Usability
SPEEDBEAM EXPRESS is a versatile linear LED batten suitable for a wide range of commercial and industrial environments, including warehouses, workshops, plant rooms, car parks and utility spaces.
The range is available in four lengths – 0.6m, 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.8m – enabling it to suit different project requirements. Selectable colour temperature (3000K, 4000K and 6500K) allows installers to adapt the lighting environment without changing fittings, while dual power options from 10W to 68W enable light output to be optimised depending on the installation.
Installation and Ease of Use
SPEEDBEAM EXPRESS has been designed specifically to reduce installation time and simplify on-site work for electricians.
The luminaire features two-part construction, separating the wiring base from the diffuser assembly. This makes wiring and mounting significantly faster and easier during installation.
Additional installer-focused design features include:
• Cable clamps for secure, tidy wiring
• A 4-way push-in terminal block with loop-in and loop-out connections
• Marked drill points on conduit entries for accurate mounting
• Optional BESA box mounting compatibility
Screwless twist-lock end caps provide quick access to internal components, while integrated safety straps hold the diffuser at a 90° angle, allowing hands-free adjustment during installation without removing the diffuser.
Energy Efficiency and Performance
SPEEDBEAM EXPRESS delivers strong lighting performance with an efficacy of up to 150 lumens per watt, ensuring high light output with reduced energy consumption.
Additional energy savings can be achieved through an optional plug-in microwave sensor accessory that provides on/off switching and three-step dimming based on occupancy. This modular approach allows installers to enhance energy performance without adding complexity.
The luminaire also offers a 50,000-hour rated lifetime, helping to minimise maintenance requirements over its lifespan.
Materials and Construction
SPEEDBEAM EXPRESS is built using durable materials designed for reliability in demanding commercial environments.
The luminaire features a pressed steel, powder-coated base for structural strength and corrosion resistance, combined with a polycarbonate diffuser and end caps that provide durability and consistent light distribution.
The fitting is rated IK08 for impact resistance and IP20 for indoor use, ensuring robust performance in everyday working environments.

The product is supported by a 5 year warranty, in addition to the our standard 2 year on-site warranty, giving installers and end users confidence in the long-term reliability of the product.
